This course is designed to develop qualified shotgun instructors who can manage and conduct shotgun training programs. The student will be trained in shotgun techniques, equipment, and accessories, and will participate in various shooting drills such as shooting while moving, multiple target engagement, transition from shotgun to secondary weapon, malfunction drills, and a variety of other shooting problems. Subject matter will include: shotguns and their nomenclature, ballistics, capabilities and limitations, shooting positions, fundamentals, instructor liability, safety, and range operation.

On the first day of class, students will be required to produce a copy of their Firearms Instructor certificate.
Students should bring a 12 gauge pump action or semi-automatic shotgun equipped with a sling.
Ammo needed for course:
150 rounds of bird shot
50 Rounds 1 oz Slug
50 Rounds of 00 buck shot
Students need to ensure that they bring inclement weather gear
