What started as a response to a residential fire quickly turned into a rescue mission for some feathered friends!
Upon arrival, Deputy Sanson learned that a chicken coop and nearby shed were on fire, with several chickens trapped inside. Without hesitation, he forced open the coop door and briefly entered the burning structure, rescuing approximately 8–10 chickens.
Not all heroes wear capes, and sometimes the lives they save have feathers!
The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office is proud of Deputy Sanson’s quick thinking and compassion. Protecting and serving extends to all members of our community, even the feathered ones!
