The laws of the State of Georgia require the sheriff of each county to secure the county courthouse and serve the legal paperwork of the courts. The Sheriff\u2019s Services Division of the Barrow County Sheriff\u2019s Office was created in July of 2016 to address those statutory requirements. Commanded by Major Tim Hines, the Sheriff\u2019s Services Division houses the Civil\/Transport Unit and the Court Security Unit. Assisting the Division Commander in the supervision of the units are two lieutenants and two sergeants who oversee the activities of 28 deputy sheriffs and 2 civilian support staff.<\/p>\n
