Mailing inmates at the Barrow County Detention Center
All personal mail sent to inmates incarcerated at the Barrow County Detention Center is scanned by a third party contracted service (Tech Friends Inc via JailATM) for the safety of inmates and staff. Inmates will have access to digital copies of the appropriate scanned mail via inmate kiosks or issued devices. (See details below for Tech Friends Mail Scanning Policies and Procedures Document)
To send inmate’s personal mail:
All inmate mail will be sent to a central processing facility, not the jail where the inmate is housed. At the processing facility, mail will be opened, scanned, and sent electronically/emailed to the inmate at the jail facility.
All personal inmate mail shall be mailed to the following address as listed:

All inmate mail must be in the form of a plain white post card with postage embossed, pre-printed or ink stamped, that comply with current US Postal Service regulations. (No larger than 4.5 inches high and 6 inches long.)

Legal mail (being sent by a legally approved entity/Attorney of Record) will be set to:
• Barrow County Detention Center
• Inmate name/number
• 652 Barrow Park Drive Winder, GA 30680
Packages are not accepted on behalf of inmates unless otherwise specified.
