The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office Civil/Transport Unit is responsible for the service of all legal paperwork generated by the various Courts of Barrow County. Our deputies traditionally attempt to serve papers during normal business hours Monday through Friday, but can occasionally accommodate you by making service attempts at other non-traditional hours if you wish.

If you come home and find a yellow “door hanger” card on your front door, it means that the Civil/Transport Unit of the Sheriff’s Office has attempted to serve you with a document from the Court. The yellow card itself contains only information identifying the deputy attempting the service and the patrol zone in which you live. To make arrangements to have the paper served, please call (770) 307-3080 ext. 3084 or (770) 307-3080 ext. 3121.
